is 100 watts the highest power the FCC grants for LPFM? are some LPFM
'stations 10 watts and others are 100 watts?

is the FCC considering making all regular FM stations (not LPFM) at least
250 watts? And all fm translators at least 250 watts?

The highest authorized power for a LPFM is 100 watts ERP. (Effective Radiated Power) The higher the antenna the lower the actual power, but still 100 watts ERP.

In reality, ERP is less than 100 watts for LPFM stations where the antenna radiation center is greater than ~100 feet in height above average terrain (HAAT).

The reduced ERP licensed for these overheight installations is intended to provide the same 1 mV/m coverage contour for that station as if it had installed its antenna radiation center at 100' HAAT and used 100 watts ERP.
