Powers-that-be at KICKS furious

My inside source at KICKS told me this morning that station management is furious over the recent news that MOBY's show on WNGC in Athens is beating the KICKS morning show in the ratings in Atlanta.

While most people know about the ratings that are released quarterly (we see them in the AJC and other places) radio stations actually get ratings weekly and even daily.

When KICKS management recently got the ratings for the week of Oct. 17-Oct. 21, MOBY had more listeners from 6-10 a.m. in Atlanta than did Bandie and Bailie.

One KICKS higher up said during a closed door meeting, "Damn it, how did this redneck MOBY do this? This is unacceptable!"

Another higher up said, "I think it's obvious listeners aren't happy with our morning show."

I say, what goes around comes around.

You couldnt be more of a looser. No weekly ratings, no ratings released from Oct 17th, no furious meetings at KICKS,no Moby beating anyone in Atlanta Radio. You need to get a life. Nobody cares about Moby professionally in Atlanta. Your posts are laughable. Bring something real to the forum.

Good God. Who is expected to buy into this nonsense? Everyone knows that there are no weekly or daily Arbitron radio ratings. Athens is not even recognized by Arbitron as a Metro.

Quit spamming with your Moby crap. Nobody cares.

I was driving in this morning feeling my IQ drain away while listening to a "serious" debate on Q100 over that crappy Atlanta theme song.

Thank you for reminding me that it could have been worse.

Dude, you forgot to mention that a few select stations are
beta-testing the new Arbitron Crystal: it's a service that actually
gives you TOMORROW'S NUMBERS...TODAY!
That's worth what you're shovelling..."and you can take that to the bank".

But, how will it affect Q100?

Speaking of ATL theme songs...

Are there already three Atlanta anthems out there already?

"ATL" Baby D
"Welcome to Atlanta" Ludacris
"Roll With Me" Co-Ed. This should be the main theme, because it gets real descriptive about Atlanta in this song.

Yea, but that's not the same station as 79-WQXI that somebody wanted to live long.

I'm a moron? You're the one with "Long Live 79 WQXI" in your signature! Long live a station that's been dead for decades? Sure, this is America and you're welcome to put whatever stupid thing you want in your signature, but my pointing out the fact that it's dead doesn't make me a moron. Free speech, remember? But your name-calling obviously makes you an a$$hole.

You are obviously under the false assumption that I am 20 years old. You're wrong. I remember 79/WQXI well, as far back as Dr. Don Rose. Then Skinny Bobby Harper - who was later on WIIN-97. I got up early every morning just to listen to SBH all the way through high school. I understand your point about big corporations and the current state of radio, but I think you missed my point - how can something that's been dead for 20 years "live long?" I'm getting bored with this conversation now, gotta go sort my sock drawer. Bye...
