PPM Numbers (Nov 5th) should be interesting-Urbans should be way down again

Should be interesting to see what the next line of PPM Numbers are going to look like on November 5th.

I have been listening to Choice FM (London), WPGC (DC), 102 Jamz (Greensboro), Power 96 (Miami) and the Flow 93.5 (Toronto) mix shows lately. I stop listening to the New York urban stations because they sound so bad.

I decided to listen to them today hoping that they have changed for the better. I discovered the quality of the music they are playing has really fallen into the bottom of the toilet bowel. I heard a few John Legend, Jennifer Hudson,Jazmine Sullivan and Robin Thicke songs that made me sit up, but the rest were the typical whispery and hard-on-the-ears hood chicks (Ciara,Off-Keyshia Cole,Beyonce) and hard to understand Southern Rappers. The quality of the New York Rap stuff is way off. London R&B and Toronto Rap (The Kid Famous, Frankie Payne, Point Blank,Saukrates, Mayhem Morearty) are putting out much better Urban Music with much smaller black populations. Too bad they can't get any U.S. play. Hot and Power plays nothing but a ton of 106 & Park crap. The 10am-6pm playlists has a Atlanta/New Orleans feel.

I have a feeling WBLS (typical Keyshia Cole bull), Hot 97 and Power 105.1 (BET Countdown stuff/no good local music), are going to be ranked around #11, #12 and #13 again.

Does anyone have the 18-34 numbers for Hot 97's last ranking?

We already can see the average of the first three out of four weeks of PPM for "October" and in 18-34, Hot is #2, Power is #3 and WBLS is #7 overall.

There is not going to be a major change in this, since 3/4 of the book is already out. Naturally, the book has a different tabulation and weighting proceedure, but changes will be minimal.

Thanks David.

At least Hot 97 is doing well in it's target/low end demo. How is WBLS doing in it's target and money demo, 25-54? Management at the station is really upset with Arbitron over this PPM situation.

It's 8th in 25-54 in the average of the first three weeks of October (really mid-September to Mid October). And that is only 1.4 shares behind #1, so it's very compact up at the top.
