PPM numbers wow!

The people at WSOC-FM and WRFX should be very happy right now. WBT not so much, ouch!

All Access has July-Aug-Sept numbers. Look at WNSC-FM's numbers (riding high in July and August in the basement in September). What's up with that?

WSOC should be real pleased. Also K 104.7 should be pleased as their over Lite. Seems playing some of the older ACish songs works.

The monster cume K had in July should have given them better quarter hour numbers don't you think? Lots of businesses play K so that probably helps a lot. On the east side of Charlotte K has a much stronger signal than Lite.

K is 100KW at 1,000 feet Lite is 33KW at 1500 feet. On poor radios the strong signals from K and WSOC walk all over Lite.

I'm surprised The Link went up.
WBT is surprising. Maybe they'll consider an FM now (not 99.3!) since that has helped in a lot of markets.

Actually, I think Lite 102.9's music is better, they are older leaning than K104.7 and seem more organized on-air. Surprised K104 topped them so.

Whenever I put the K 104.7 stream on they are playing older ACish songs. Haven't not listened to 102.9 Lite FM so don't know their music and their a CC so I was guessing they would just sound like WLTW in NYC.

K's a gold leaning AC, but Lite is also. They're sleepier than WLTW IMO, 106.7 has a more rhythmic/modern sound.

Can anybody here explain WNSC ? How did they go 6.3 - 6.5 - 0.3 ? Something is messed up there.

I thought a lot of CC's AC stations thats used the (lite fm) sounded like WLTW.

Anyways K 104.7 might have done better cause of signal power over 102.9 lite fm. And I agree the people behind the mic on K 104.7 could be picked better along with the shifts. Thats all for another subject tho.

Not sure that who is on the air makes much difference. No ad libs allowed, just read the card, push the button.

K has signal problems in South Carolina due to WNOK Columbia also on 104.7. I think they have trouble covering parts or Rock Hill which falls in the market.

Mike. I haven't seen the monthlies, but WNSC according to the summary on this site, didn't show up with any ratings in the Winter and Spring books.

Am I missing something?

Lots of News-Talk stations are down in the PPM era, not just WBT. They are rethinking sales now. Emphasizing results for sponsors rather than numbers. Some talkers have also started thinking shorter stories, faster pacing, etc and choosing stories and topics that are absolutely compelling. Filler is a killer at News-Talk now.

Those are the Jul-Aug-Sep PPM number listed on All Access.

Hearing through the rumor mill some changes maybe coming to WBT. I have heard that Hancock may be looking to move. Could be Asheville or Greenville.

I have also heard more sports may be on the way for BT...

Then they should bring back jazz!

That's now. Lite (which is a name, not a format) was more uptempo before.

Seriously, can people who like "Lite" music in New York City not get a break?

Sounds like all good ideas to me. I know that people pay more attention to the live product endorsements done by show hosts. I can still remember the clients H.A. Thompson had, the recorded commercials, not so much.

Does this mean they'll get away from talking about politics all the time?

Delilah has not done well in many PPM markets which favor more music/less talk and has been dropped, even on Clear Channel stations.

I wonder how she's doing on Lite102.9...

Every so often I’ll accidently tune in Delilah and within 5 minutes I immediately want to rip my radio out of the dashboard and throw it through the window.
I guess I’m just not very “sensitive”, or maybe other PPM listeners feel just like me.
;D
