And with that brilliant move Entercom made with KWOD a few years ago and then finally blowing up the format in May, they left an opportunity wide open to attack 98 Rock's enormous market share.

Clear and CBS have to be looking at that share seeing the opportunity.

93.1 & 100.5 are perfect candidates....and why has this not happened yet??

Format changes cost money, and it's just possible that they're smart enough to know that they need a better product than they could muster right now. I can't think of any really good Active Rock stations in CBS, although I'm sure there are some. Plus, CC's version on 96.7 in Manteca is nothing compared to what 98.5 is producing right now. I travel a lot, and 98-Rock is one of the best presentations of that format heard anywhere. Making a dent in their audience wouldn't be easy.

I'm in total agreement, Dave. 98 is on 24/7.

Disagree... KRXQ is way too broad to protect all flanks. They won't be "brought down" but a station can make a good living by ripping off their low end.

funny, it appears that KZZO's new pd got rid of the DJ in their highest rated daypart. sounds like Keith Brooks has been moved over to KSFM.

Maybe the new PD has brains. The guy that's been in charge is/was clueless. He'd be better off sticking with programming the Bee Gees and Laura Branniagn.

Jeremy's a better fit for the demo too. Less offensive to the office crowd.

Plus, he's Wally Walnuts!

Disagree. There's no such thing as "making a good living" off the low end. The low end is worth about a one share, and nobody would bother going there. The financial and ratings strength of KRXQ is not the low end, it's 24 to 49 adults.

one share is right... thats exactly why there are no "metal" stations, and exactly why you dont hear slayer and pantera on the radio... unless you want that one share....
