PPM Test

I saw some of the rankings for the Chicago PPM test. They are VERY different from the diary results. It was great for Bonnieville, the DRIVE and MIX were #1 and #2 25-54.

Clear Channel has reason to be concerned as Urban did far worse with the meter. WGCI is #1 25-54 in the diary but only #10 with PPM. WVAZ is #2 25-54 with the diary system but #6 in PPM. Like other markets, Smooth Jazz does MUCH worse with PPM. WNUA is top 10 25-54 diary but an awful #22 with PPM.

How did WLS-FM "94.7" do?

I didn't see, although oldies/classic hits tends to do very well in other PPM markets.

15th in 15-54, 6th in 12+. Much poorer sales demo ranking than WOGL, KRTH or WCBS FM, likely due to the older music blend.

Very good news for Bonneville...which is a really great company that deserves this! They do a lot of great things and its paying off.

Someone already asked about the Oldies station...

...now it's my turn to ask about the alternative rock station! ;)

How did Q101 fare?

Q101 did a little better with the meter. They rank #10 18-34 with the diary and #7 with PPM.

Thanks for the info, Jay.

7th place still isn't very good. My guess is that means they're getting beaten by both CHRs, Mix, WGCI, La Kalle, either Power or WOJO (not necesssarily in that order).

In other words, they're still at or near the bottom of the pack among the stations that actually care about performing well in the 18 - 34 demo.

Beaten by WTMX, WLEY, WOJO, WKSC, WGCI. WMVP, and tied with WUSN and WDRV

Very interesting -- I certainly didn't expect to see WMVP or WDRV in that group! I'm surprised B96 didn't make the Top 7.

I guess Q101 didn't fare as poorly as I thought, then, among its young adult oriented peers.

Thanks for the info!

It'll be interesting to see what happens once PPM becomes "currency" in the Chicago market.

The Drive's numbers are incredible!

They have a cume of almost 2 million and are #1 in Adults and Men 25-54 in am, mid, pm and #3 W25-54 in am, mid, pm.
