If we were to believe your posts, the "suits" apparently cannot make a decision as you have reported them in town doing the same thing how many times over the past 4 months?

As noted before, even a broken analog clock is correct twice a day. That doesn't mean it knows anything.
 
Every time WUBL drops in ratings or wastes massive amounts of money Clear Channel has to promote Clay Hunnicut, its in his contract. The suits HAVE been in town because they will have to promote Clay to CEO by 1/1/09 if they keep things intact.

In no particular order:

Patron--methinks CC will put all of their Latino chips on Viva and put something else on 105.3...maybe Legend or another format they want to try. Legend might do better than Bull.

Dave--Does Dave do particularly well in a specific demo? Do they get high ad rates? They always seem to be the worst-rated 100k station in 12+, book in and book out (not counting Bull), but never seem to be on the hot seat.

Bull--natch. FAIL.

Rock 100.5--although they may get a pass because they're only 10k. They need to quit going after Project with all the new rock because they aren't going to be able to pull that off. Whatever Rock 100.5 can do with new rock, Project can do better. I personally would like them to go back to mostly 70s/80s AOR.

True Oldies is too new to flip again...especially with Citadel's low-budget approach.

Now, what would any of these flip to? We've discussed FM sports, FM talk, maybe a soft AC, or maybe a hot AC. I don't see another CHR unless Star or Q100 goes hot AC.
 
Rock 100 should be southern rock. Classic 96rock format from the 80s and early 90s. It's current music format is listenable. It just pisses off everyone to be reminded of that shit station that ruined 96rock.
 
A friend sent me the Oct PPM stats - and I was truly awed by the performance of WSB-AM

I cannot think of another major market news/talk station that gets nearly one-quarter
of the A25-54 audience (AM drive on WSB-AM)

Worth watching to see how this trends after the election - wonder if Cox will
tone-down their opposition to PPM when WSB-AM bemomes he highest-rated
radio station in the the country?

So of the 100 plus people resularly posting on the Atlanta board we are all clueless but Randy. Wow that's great to know. Should we now refer to him as King Randy His Royal Highness???

Also why don't you keep the Mason's demotion at q105 on the market board it belongs or am I so clueless that I missed the fact that therte is a105 in Atlanta? This is the Atlanta Board not the "Give High Praise to Randy Kabrich" board.

My advice to Randy is don't stop short or you might have to extricate 2ez from a place you don't want him to be.
 
how are they going to compare the past numbers with new numbers? I mean, if PPM is more accurate, then will they average the old numbers or something?

Interesting to see what happens with 100.5 Clearly, they'll probably keep TRG even if they flip....at least for another 6 months. But who knows..seems like biz is as unpredictable as a cat.
 
I see no reason for them to drop the Rock format. They will proably try to tweak it to do better in their desired demographics.

The other option is and I know their is somewhat different ownership but is moving the Fan to that signal while keeping the Regular Guys in the morning out of the question? That would be the final death blow to Steak and the Sports Gang. WFAN in NYC the most successful of sports stations ever had Imus as their morning host forever. I am sure the ownership situation could be worked out if that was considered the best move.

Actually, I'd have to say that first sentence is true almost all of the time here. It's ridiculous that people here continue to take shots at him. He is as knowledgeable and well respected as anyone in the radio industry. You all should actually be VERY thankful he actually takes time out of his busy schedule to come here and post to a crowd of people who mostly doesn't want to be educated.
 
Did any of the stations web streams show up in the PPM? Based on other markets, I would think WSB and maybe Q-100 would show up.

I'm kinda' surprised that the stream for WSB-AM didn't show at all. I would think that there would be some office listening which is almost impossible with an AM station. WSB AM's stream is always very low data rates - I assumed this was because of heavy listening.
The other shocker about the stream numbers for V is the TSL. Did you see that? 12-18 hours!! Simply amazing.......
