PPM

With plans of Charlotte going PPM in September, what effect do you think this will have on the overall Charlotte market?? Do you expect any major changes??

I think alot of Charlotte radio folks are going to be very surprised when PPM makes it mark in the market. There will not be a lot of extreme movement but some of the highly rated radio stations will drop. Stations that are in similar formats (WSOC / WKAT / WRFX / WXRC) will find that only one of them will be the clear winner. Stations like WXRC is my opinion will have a hard time with PPM. To bad there is no real Classic Hits station for they seem to be doing extremely well in PPM markets.

I can almost guarantee that WPEG will fall out of the top 5 immediately. That station is one of worst programmed urbans I've seen from CBS, and that says a lot since I'm a dedicated listener to their sister station in Atlanta, WVEE.
