PPM's in February

No dramatic changes in the market in the $ demo, but WSRV-WHTA & WSTR improved. Urban occupies the top two spots (WVEE & WAMJ) followed by WSB-FM, WSRV and WSTR rounding out the top 5.
WHTA, WALR, WWWQ, WSB and WUBL making the top 10.
WQXI edges its two sports counterparts but all ranking under 20th, NPR and WYAY rank 17th and 19th. WSB continues to perform the best when it's in all news mode in the morning ranking first with NPR 5th and WYAY 18th. Even the evening news slash talk show ranks 3rd, with NPR 14th and WYAY 23rd. Not a great month for talk of any kind really.
Among the younger demos, the top 5 are WVEE, WHTA, WWWQ, WSB-FM and WBZY.
The 6+ numbers look different as they usually do with WVEE, WAMJ, WSB-FM, WSB and WALR in the top 5.

After seeing the PPM's, who has the number one morning show in Atlanta, since Frank and Wanda left? Any changes?

Sorry to bring this up again, but hasn't The Game had its three month trial by now? They're down 0.3 this month, to 0.6 - dead last except for the Cumulus translators.

When CBS flipped Dave, it had a 2.3 - now The Game has a 0.6, after three months - flip it back to Alternative already!!

Hmmm, MAJIC 107.5/97.5 isn't far behind V103 is the overall 6+. Maybe Frank and Wanda listeners have migrated over to Steve Harvey Morning Show on MAJIC?

Hit music
B98.5 - 6.9-7.5
Star 94 - 4.6-5.2
Q100 - 4.6-4.5
Power 96.1 - 4.1-4.0
WiLD 105.7 - 1.9-1.8

Cumulus' translators
Q100 20 @ 97.9 - 0.4-0.3
98.9 The Walk - 0.7-0.2 (It's a bust!)

How are Rock100.5 and River doing in the men's demos? It looks like both are doing well from their recent tweaks (more harder classic on River, and more harder new stuff on Rock). I also wonder how they are doing in each daypart.

Note to Clear Channel: If you had done to 96 Rock what Cumulus has been doing to Rock, we'd still have 96 Rock. But noooooo, you had to blow up the station (96 Rock to Project) and completely change the playlist (dump ALL the classic rock) and drive off all of your old listeners...and now we have Power 96 because the Project was not a success.

Speaking of CC...how long are they going to let Wild circle the drain? Killing Wild might move Power 96 up in the rankings.

I wouldn't call The Walk a bust just yet (Bone did well and Cumulus seems to have brought those listeners all over to Rock). But Cumulus ought to be able to get more than a 0.3 share on 97.9 with a different format. If they want to put classic hits or TOC or variety hits or alt or AAA on it, now's their chance.

River is #1 in the market M 25-54, WNNX is 12th

Not likely. The type of listener that listens to V-103 isn't the same as they type that would listen to Majic. If anything the people whom are responsible for the bump for Majic are listeners that have migrated from Kiss 104.1. V-103: hip-hop, R&B, and old school urban hits; Majic: R&B, soul (contemporary and classic); Kiss: R&B, soul (contemporary and classic), and blues

And yet the former V-103 listeners who are now 55 years old migrated to Kiss 104 first nearly two decades ago, then Majic 107.5/Grown Folks Radio 102.5 years later. But as long as Vee-One-O-Three remains the cash cow in Atlanta radio, all the other Top 5/10 counterparts are kept at bay.

Urban has 30.6 total. Not that it matters tho.

It does help that V-103 still has a number of people well into their late 40s and early 50s still tuning into the station. Something most urban stations these days couldn't do if their bottom lines depended on it. It's kind of funny when you think about it. Meanwhile the segmentation of urban radio is attempted over and over elsewhere
