PR&E Airwave VU meter bulbs...

I'm looking for the bulbs that go on the VU meters in our PR&E Airwave boards.

12-96 is the the PR&E number. Can someone recommend a place I can order
theses from? These are the grey consoles.

Thanks!

The factory was the only source I was able to find for these fuse-style lamps, and I wasn't happy with either the price or the life of them. PRE has a kit for converting the lamps to take more-readily-available, conventional screw-type bulbs; a worthwhile investment.

Call Bob Moore at Mooretronix in Fremont, Michigan, I'm sure he can help you.

They have been on vacation for the past two weeks but were due to return on Monday the 7th

We've replaced them with a couple high intensity white LED's and a resistor. Have to shape the LED lenses to difuse the light evenly. There's a kit from Radio Systems to replace those bulbs with LEDs. Now we need to come up with an LED for the ON/OFF buttons. Need to modify the module for that.

One of the lighting companies sold me a sack of fifty of the switch lights (they're called 'grain of wheat') for not a lot o fmoney when I was maintaining Digital Airwaves. They're a PIA to install, but lasted faily well. I found them doing a Google search, the sales type gave me to believe those bulbs are used in some automotive applications in lowwer voltages.
