Do any of you guys who take phone requests have a handle on how many of them are legitimate and how many are deliberate pranks?

I had a guy routinely call up my oldies show asking for some "Kid Rrrrrrrock-a". One night, he must have had all his friends, of all three genders, call up too. I aired them all, then played some Kid Rock...with appropriate commentary.

Never heard back after that night.

The last good one I heard was when Froggy aired a call that said that Bruce Springsteen was going to do a cameo at last summer's Kenny Chesney concert at Heinz Field. Apparently, Kenny was at Springsteen's concert at the "Pete" the night before, and someone thought The Boss would return the favor. Well, Froggy apparently ran the call without confirming the rumor. You might still find the thread somewhere on here.

Okay I found the original post:

"Last week, the Froggy morning show was inundated with calls about Kenny Chesney, Renee Zellweger, and Keith Urban showing up at the Springsteen show in Oakland. One caller, "Dave", claimed to be working security at that show and said it was almost definite that Springsteen would show up at the Kenny Chesney show in return. Word was that because ABC was taping the Chesney concert for an upcoming special, he'd have surprise guests on hand for the taping and Springsteen wasn't supposed to be anywhere until Sunday, and even then, he was only going to Columbus. Of course, Springsteen was a no-show at the big show. This afternoon, Stony Richards on Y108 said that they'd never announced on their station anything about Kenny and company turning up at Springsteen's show, and in fact, he had heard that Chesney wasn't even in town until Friday night.

Soooo.... with that in mind, does anyone suppose that Y108 might have "planted" this information with Froggy just to make them look less credible in the event that they did run with it the way they did?"
