You are exactly right it will be difficult to get what they paid for it. KMX does not bring in as much revenue like it did when it was first bought by Styles from Wallace Miller.
It's ashamed that such a powerful station at one time has been run in the dirt by lack of Management and talent.They let go experienced Jocks and sales veterans just to save a little money on the bottom line and now look where the lack of experience has gotton them. Hardly any revenue .

easy B.J ,...when kmx was bought it WAS not making money..FACT! the books where cooked..FACT and after doug left sure then even more money was lost, remember nothing stays broke forever!! and its not just kmx, its the whole cluster, and KMX is making more now, its almost sold out!! i know this, and yes after it was bought the people in charge did blow it up and the over paid staff, but FACT! KMX is on the up swing and it might take a year but it is, 18-34 #1, 25-54 tied, women and being 18-34 is their target i would say they are on the up swing, so B.J i know it sucks you were let go and you are a great talent but you need to let it go and move on, WKMX has the sound it hasnt had since 1990 and the split following... oh B.J and the rest of the old crew.IF the cluster is bought no one from the day is coming back..thats from the possible buyer!!!!!
 
Sorry to blow your idea Miss Ginny but Mr. and Mrs. DiBacco and Mr. McCoy aren't and weren't stupid. They would've had a Reps & Warranties clause giving the ability to come back on Dr. Miller if all was not as presented at the close of the sale. There was probably a period of a couple of months when everything was checked out by their (Styles) folks irreguardless of the KMX staff.

Advice - be cautious of potentially slanderous comments of Dr. Miller and the previous ownership, he may not read the board but some who know him probably do.

your right and your wrong stewy!! let me refrase it to make it clear, From noncasting corprate office, (is that better no mention of the comp) a guy named... lets say ..mmm Tom (just for giggles) cooked the books to show more money to get the investors to buy WKMX, sorry to imply Dr Miller, hense why the overtake of the noncasting from plyes broadcasting.not the only reason, but it was one of them!

on another note stewy before you try and sound so smart and have all the answers, "irreguardless" does not make you sound so smart. it's just reguardless!

Can I ask a question? HOW????? I've been listening and I have heard maybe 4 or 5 spots-in about 3 breaks, the rest are either promo's, psa's, or PI's...so HOW are they making money and when are they alomost sold out? Cause I would like to hear

I am SOOOOOOOO SORRY, i did not write any of those post, i just saw it and I am sick over somone using my computer at work, i was not even at work yesterday. i think i know who it was, but i do not know for sure, that will be the last time i ever keep my password and logon name in my desk, so if any of those post offended anyone please accept me saying i am sorry. :'( you all know i am about lovin.

Pnut Rox I Agree with you and exactly my point in all this. Usually 60 seconds is the moring show promo talking about nothing. Then it is the KMX PSA rip off spot that runs stuff 2 weeks old ,next a local spot done so terrible with effects that you can't even understand word (by the way that effect doesn't have to be used in every spot you cut) then a P.I.. The only reason why KMX is having any spots is because they are bonused out from TVY.
I talked to a friend that was advertising on TVY and they showed me the proposal stating they would get KMX,BBK,And JRL for free if they signed up for two or three months. But my friend said she never could get anyone to tell her when her spots were playing and saw no result so she dropped majic and went to stations that know what they are doing and get results.

Guess the original post here will prove as accurate as the "TRP is about to be sold for 7M" one. I'm tickled to death that so many pundits in this miniscule market spend so much time and energy speculating on matters they have no control or sway over. Keep in mind that Dothan has a population of about 60K and what happens here hardly causes more than a ripple in the overall scheme of things.

How 'bout this for a new one...

My second room mate from college's 3rd cousin has a friend who knows this dude from Seattle that owns a mini storage outfit with interests in Panama City that is considering opening a club that'll employ a barback who'll be the new PD of The Big Wheel that wants to flip the station to Armenian Polka as soon as the numbers come out.

Just about as reliable...
 
Hey tripleass, that is really good news!! Now maybe Mr. Jack'll be able to roll the wheel for about 3M...as long as the barback w/connections-soon-to-be-PD agrees to not hire any old kmxer's, they seem to be such a lethal group.

BTW, anybody noticed the improved rotation at 1053? Thanks to whomever did it! May make TRP's price go to 8M.
