Pre-Atlanta Dowdle

I playing around on youtube.com I was checking out some Miami tv stations and watched a news open from 1977 and they listed Chuck Dowdle as the sports guy and I could see him behind the newsdesk. The WSB website only mentions him joining the station in 1985 where he stays over 20 years later. Does anyone know how long Chuck was in Miami as what appears to the main sports slot from 1977.

Not sure how long he was with WPLG Channel 10 down in Miami, But I'm from there and pretty much remember him being one of the top sports anchors in town. Was pleasantly suprised when I moved to Atlanta and saw him on channel 2.

Whatever the case may be, the sportscasters in this town are awful for the most part. Dowdle and Hartmann have bad deliveries (honestly, when Mark Arum filled in, he was very good). WAGA's Rodriguez annoys me with his eyebrow- like he trying to pick up girls during his sports. The best, IMHO, is Randy Waters on 11. Great personality, down to earth type delivery. Sam Crenshaw isn't bad, but Kalill (yes I know about his medical past) is just boring. As for 46, Tyree just is too "in your face". Tone down a bit.
