Pre-election night coverage in Atlanta radio market

Monday night, on primary election eve, I was driving home from work around 8 p.m. The following day's primary was on my mind and I was hoping some Atlanta news/talk station would be discussing it.

Here's what I got:

WSB: Michael Savage talking about shooting all liberals. How a news monster with the history of WSB airs this lunatic is beyond me. Regardless, no talk of the following day's primary.

WGST: A Braves game was on so they get a little slack, although only a little. The reason: If the Braves had been off, the station would have been airing Dave Ramsey, quite possibly the most boring host in the country.

WGKU: Suddenly, it hit me. The new 920 talk station would save the day (or evening) and offer some pre-election talk. Nope. I don't know who the host was, but the topic centered on the new Johnny Depp pirate movie. Give me a break.

So, there was no primary election talk with the polls opening in less than 12 hours. How pathetic for a so-called major news market. All stations dropped the ball big time on this one.

When Michael first came on I was very annoyed that there would be no more Royal Treatment. After listening to Michael for a week I began to look forward to listening to him if my schedule allowed. He is an interesting man with some very interesting views. Now you have me thinking . . . Would it be a bad thing to shoot all liberals?

I have not heard of radio stations concentrating on election day coverage the day before in Atlanta other than regularly scheduled talk shows. As previously noted, the disapointment for me was the election night coverage.

You should have been listening to The Regular Guys. Monday morning they had Hank Johnson on discussing his race against Cynthia McKinney & audio of the little Ralph Reed supporters trolling around the Mall of Georgia. Tuesday's show was filled with plenty of election coverage. Wednesday's show featured exit poll interviews and an interview with Cindy Sheehan.
