Predators Radio to bring in new announcers for 55 broadcasts

In order to make its TV broadcasts a better product, the Predators organization is splitting the combined TV-radio play-by-plays it has had for years. Seems Pete and Crispy will deliver a TV-only broadcast for the 55 games that will be on the air for the 2006-07 season, and then do the radio broadcasts for the remainder of the games. That means the Preds will be hiring new announcers to call about 2/3 of the games? Now I doubt there are many broadcasters who will want to play second fiddle to Pete and Crispy rather than do a full slate of games, so who could step in? Willy Daunic? Paul McCann? Mark Howard? Kevin Ingram calling the game doing imitations of Pete and Crispy?

One person I didn't dare bring up was Eli Gold, because he's been covering NHL games for HD broadcast. Now City Paper's reporting It's Eli Gold! Awesome announcer! What a great grab!

Eli Gold, Shocker, a great move. But, how do we know it is not Kevin Ingram doing an imitation of Eli Gold?
