John Roberts may leave WGNY. Maybe more changes at the Fox.

Does anyone think 94.3 The Wolf will stay around much longer?

For the lower part of the HV, I don't think there will be any major changes, unless you count Sunrise Broadcasting getting its act together.

I doubt that 94.3 The Wolf will stay country for much longer. Since Cumulus flipped 94.3 from Oldies to Country in 2003, it hasn't been able to make any inroads against WRWD. But the problem for Cumulus is if it decides after the ratings come out in January to flip 94.3 from Country, what format does it flip to? Speaking of Sunrise Broadcasing, when I called their New Windsor office, to ask as to why WGNY-AM/WDLC-AM's website is still listed as Hudson Valley Oldies 1220/1200, I was told that the site would be updated soon. I called in mid-November ,and as of tonight, it's still up as Oldies 1220/1200.

Ok. I'll play! Put on your seat belts, here we go:

Let's start with 94 Rock: They will eventually fire most of their staff, including JR and Pi, and switch formats finally. How much longer can you stay with the average rating of 1.3?

1023 KISS FM - Eventually will surpass Fly in the ratings for the first time. ABC will not "Have a Nice Day":)

Fly 92.3 - Candy and Potter will most likely either will move back to Seattle, their hometown or to the south. They hate the cold. To give them their props, they have the #2 morning show, but $$ talks.

John Foxx is just waiting to hear from his pal Donnie Michaels in Florida for an opening, give it time, it will happen.

Brian Cody will be offered the PD post. Will he finally accept?

Expect Christy Taylor to be fired, Marissa deservingly will go to the Middays.

WQBK - After Howard leaves, expect a format change, BIG TIME. My guess, soft rock. Nobody in the region is competing with B95. $$$$$$

B95 - Expect Chuck and Kelly to be gone. Where, who cares? Maybe Chuck will doing some PT work at JAMZ, possibly under "DJ Chuckie Chuck". Kelly will be offering coffee cake recipes at WMAC.

That's all for now...

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzza, Happy Hannukkah, Merry Irish Christmas (??)...

Whatever.

> A couple of thoughts here my friend!!

-Fly will hopefully make those staff changes that are needed...and tweak the format to what it used to be with more dance and more pop. Maybe it's time for some quality part time jocks like they used to have??? Bring back the old crew....its time to make thing's right. To my knowledge C&P'S contract is up this summer.

94 Rock: I like the format but the jocks there need to go...I mean really Butt Pirate Bill???? Time for JR and PI to go nobody listens anyways

I think Kiss will take Fly in the ratings sometime next year and I would not like to be in the building at ABC when that happens...lots of firing 's that day!!

EQX....keep doing what your doing...

Perhaps this is the year that Channel finally takes the Edge in rating's only because QBK loses their morning show and see's a huge rating drop....I dont know about a format change here folks...I've heard Classic rock I also heard they might tweak the format and rotate in more stuff you havent heard in a while...103.5 JACK FM???????

Will PYX get a ratings boost now tat the EDGE has lost its morning show.....Will Wolf have an increase in numbers which they have been looking for over there????

Wow, it's simply intriguing how well you know so much about 94 Rock, seeing as no one listens....hahahahahahahaha

It certainly is getting interesting, I really can't wait to see what happens as the new year starts.....If you be real good this year maybe you'll all get what you always wanted, and see JR and Pi get the axe.

It would be a good idea if they got rid of them , what kind of numbers do they have anyway??????Galaxy cant make up their minds on what they want to do in Albany anyway......The Eagle......K Rock.....Hot Talk......come on now!!!

I liked 94 in the beginning but after awhile the format got stale and jocks came and went.....for a short time they tried to format themselves after PYX....they actually did something that I liked for awhile which was Metallica on the nines...got rid of that to. Get rid of JR.....he is only hurting that station from advancing and moving forward.

JR is pulling in the best p25-54 numbers over there. I would bet his show brings in disproportionately more revenue than the rest of the station. Not coincidentally, JR has also been the most consistent programming element at WRCZ over the past couple of years.

The problem with WRCZ is they have a new gimmick every 2 months and the signal blows. I have heard rumours about them increasing power, but with inconsistent, bad programming, it will not matter who hears them.

His viewpoints are terrible and to tell you the truth I dont know who listens to him. If people wanna hear talk they turn the dial to an am station put music on in the afternoon ...so people have something to drive home to....He's crude and idiotic.

Hmmmm. Where have I heard that before? Pig Vomit? That you?
JR consistently pulls the highest 25-54 numbers at that station, and you are saying he is the weakness? THE REST of the programming needs to be where JR already is.

give me entertainment

you'd be very surprised of how many people listens to him, and Barbaloot is right about the numbers.

being "crude and idotic" pulls listeners in. why be like other talk radio personalities that ramble on and on about politics every single day? that would pointless. if i want to hear about politics 24/7, i'll watch it on TV. people want something to hear in the afternoons that's entertaining after a long day at the office. i think you're miss the keyword here: ENTERTAINMENT!
Edited by 1sexybitch on 12/09/05 07:12 PM.

So he's the highest revenue generator. What kind of statement is that when your context is 94Rock? Not much. He's the only jock on the station. I certainly hope he has the highest numbers. He's like turd polish. No matter how much you rub it, it's still just a turd. Saying that he's the only good part of a grossly mismanaged station isn't saying much. His show is awful. He's unprepared, crude and very unprofessional. The stations latest trend(12+) is 1.4. I know 12+ numbers aren't clear indicators, but if JR was doing anything at all in the other demos, the numbers would most certainly be better than that. It's time for him to go.

Erika is in love with JR ladies and gentleman

Re: give me entertainment

"Erika is in love with JR ladies and gentleman"

lol i'm not "erika". this is the second time that someone thought i'm her, but i'm not.

Re: Be objective

he's not the the only jock on the station anymore.

what makes him unprepared?

Erika let it go ....this was supposed to be about predictions and enjoyment but some people have to take it to far and keep harping on the same subject.Fact of the matter is nobody listens to that station so I predict many firings there and quite possibly a format switch next year. Oh by the way Erika is in tight with JR , he cant even get you a job in radio my dear so let it go. His viewpoints on politics are terrible!!!! But thats my two cents worth. Lets get back to the predictions already, cant we all just get along???

Re: Be objective

for the second time, i'm not erica. someone else on here thought i was her too and i proved it to that person. so you need to let it go that i'm not erica, and if you want proof just ask.

i'm just only interested in your opinions.

Hmmm...let's see. '06.

103.5 goes all polka. Bobby Ausfeld playing the hits!

103.9 goes Tejano! Because Albany can use a little Mexican spice...

94.5 - How about the start of the "ED" format?! Oy...

All of the Berkshire County radio stations become a simulcast for one format - all weather, 24/7. It changes every 5 minutes anyways...

I'll leave out any personnel changes - that's not nice to conjecture on who leaves, who stays, who gets fired. It's fun! But not nice. Tis' the holiday spirit to be nice, no?

2006 IN A NUT SHELL

Let me tell you what 2006 will eventually bring:

Slackers being praised for the crap they bring to the table. Show up late, goof off, screw up...but be funny about it and get applauded.

Stations will chage, new dj's will arive, nobody will care. Here today, gone tomorrow, nobody remembers ya.. just as long as they still here that terrible ass music 98% of stations play.

Hard workers of the radio world will get their anual 2% raise to bring thier paychecks up to 8 bucks an hour.

The mad dog will still be working over nights on the weekends for Pyx.

Larry Brown will be fired.

The local fast food joint will still be hiring..and paying more money then most part-timers will ever see.

Everyone will still be reading this board as if it were the Wall Street Journal.

That pretty much sums it up.
