Predictions for 2006

To prepare for the July 4th 2006 holiday season, several radio stations in January will change format to all patriotic music 24/7.

A new format will be unveiled on January first. It’s all commercials, all the time. Between commercial breaks radio stations will play the top ten hits from the Dave Clark Five.

Time Warner Cable will raise its rates another 7% in 2006, but offer subscribers new cable networks. Those new networks are:
The Snoring Channel
Betty Cooker’s Crock Book
How To Cut Your Lawn Channel
The Acne Network (AKA: Puss R Us)
The PBS Series: How to get people to give money without using a gun.

Former on-air staff from WROC TV from the past 30 years will hold a reunion in August, 2006. There are so many people attending that both Frontier Field and the Riverside Convention Center will be booked to capacity.

An asteroid will hit and destroy the satellite carrying most syndicated programming, forcing station managers to rely on something they haven’t used in years; Local personalities after 9am.

The Democrat and Chronicle will finally update their “Radio Dial” guide after Scott Fybush brought it to the paper’s attention that:

Jack and George passed away years ago, thus are no longer the morning hosts on WHAM.

WAXC isn’t located at 1460 on the AM dial anymore.

Mike Melody and Jerry Jack are fictitious names.

Uh HuH!

I wonder how the new Rythem and gold station in Buffalo will do...(somehow, for that one, I'm not sure if I'm kidding or not though...and may actually mean Rochester.)
