Predictions for 2007 in Panama City

Here's mine, WTVY (with their brilliant promos on Magical's PC stations) out of Dothan gets a 15 share and knocks PAP out of the top slot with WYOO, WVVE and WYYX become the next three.

Now for my real prediction

Magic continues to screw up at every possible oppurtunity and Clear Channel continues to improve their market share.

PAP continues to run away with everything across the board.
Beat wins the three way battle with Island and PFM.
Fox finally ditched Bob and Tom and gets a local show.
Double O - gets some websites and more than three employess.
Brandon Andrews, Rob Stark and Tori Shays will at find a way to be on every Double O station simultaneously.
Kidd Kradick on PFM gives away his old jock strap while the black guy laughs. This still beats Island's obnoxious overreacting phony redneck girl and collection of interns at every oppurtunity.
Arrow still sucks.
Wave continues to bore.
Islands' horrible morning show only gets worse as if that was possible.
X uses their big stick to do absolutely nothing and Lex and Terry remain the only bright spot.
WYOO blows their chance to replace their crap morning show by going syndicated.
Someone else goes FM Talk in this market that same crap morning show returns after movng on to "the big show." Right Joe?
Spanish station appears and the racist rednecks organize boycott, unless it shows up on a Jazz station, if that happens the rednecks will be torn on who to hate.

Your thoughts?
 
Uh, everybody 'cept CC continues to loose millions on the most over radioed Panhandle in the world. Oh, and Double Zero never
does do those websites or anything else. Should be an awesome 07 and Spring Break starts in 8 weeks!
 
Despite record profits, CC refuses to replace departing talent, resulting in yet another studio dedicated to voicetracking for the three on-air folks remaining.

CC decides to admit the obvious, and switches to religious on Sunny.

A good 80's station still won't become a reality.

ATC will use a jazz tune as background, and the WKGC Station Manager collapses in an apoplectic fit. Oh, and they still won't update their website from the 1997 version.

Harley (who is awesome) will be heard in every commercial airing on every station in town, because the rest of the talent (except one) at CC is tracking 20 shifts on the other stations.

Wooten will continue to be the man.

One more year of the same old boredom will populate the PC airwaves.

Hey anyone want to take me in as an intern? And I like the Island 106 morning show. I like Ryan and her southern twang. I'm actually sorta glad that Dan is gone. Sounded a bit like an ignorant yankee.

So this is my first posting here. Anyone want to take me in?

I like Joe Valentine. He's good. He hasn't quite grown on me like the original attack machine. But he's obviously launching careers. From what I read, it seems he's the man to talk to at Magic Broadcasting. Look at how many jocks have left Panama City and one can only assume go on to bigger and better things. DLo, Dan, The Attack Machine, all have left and I'd imagine are doing bigger and better things in there radio career. And that's only the DJs I can remember from the top of my head. So, yes, let me know how to get in touch with him, please.

WPCF 1290 ESPN's tower collapses ... nobody notices

All CC stations decide to outsource tracking to India ... nobody notices

WPFM, WILN, WEBZ gear up for Spring Break, but can't find it.

WYOO dumps local show and goes with Mancow ... nobody notices

WLTG evicted from it's building and Rush hosts a radiothon to raise cash for rent somewhere else

Kim and Tom reappear on the scene and start an 80s station

Magic drops News 13 as news partner and signs up with WJHG NewsChannel 7 Panama City
(part of a thank you for helping cover-up a DUI story)
 
How much you wanna bet the morning show has already been hired to replace the Attack Machine? Whoops...
 
I don't foresee an end in the media partnership because aren't Shane and Tom pretty popular? And if that partnership between WPAP and WJHG ended, so wouldn't there show? Or would Tom just hop over to, I don't know, Talk Radio? I'm not impressed by that duo, but for some reason, they are still popular.

I wish Tom and Kim would re-appear. They are good, honest, ethical, and hard working.

Panama City Radio misses their leadership. With Kim operating that cluster, it was No. 1 in Spring 2005 - the only time it ever beat Clear Channel.

And look at the great talent they brought in that have gone to bigger and better things:

Keith Allen - Now PD at WQEN/Birmingham
Chris & Dale - now doing Talk in Birmingham
D-Lo - Now doing nights in Memphis

And Kim won that prestigious honor for radio excellence for women in radio - in a very elite status. She is an amazingly skilled broadcaster.

Radio needs more like her and Tom!

We really miss them here on the panhandle. Hope they decide to get back in soon.
 
If the 1290 was to fall, then, WILN, WAVE100, and Smooth Jazz 105.1 would also be off the air...they are on the same tower....but you had it half right, no one would notice......

As far as Tom and Kim are concerned......yawn.......

Jo Valentine had nothing to do with the attack machine, and from this past week that may have been a good thing. Any truth to the fact that one of their replacements is a pal of the magic one.

Funny Charlie, I asked Tom and Kim about you - and then spoke highly of your work. Don't know why you have to be so negative.
 
re Tom and Kim.....Tom did something when they were getting ready to co-locate YOO to the RBA studios on 23rd St......I was self-employed at the time...I am not going give any of the details....Tom knows what he did....I will leave it at that....I haven't done one bit of work for them since that day.
