Predictions for 2012? How about for my personal media use? That's a different direction than giving opinions on what specific stations might do. Well....
I will fill up the space left on my current MP3 player with about 4 different styles of music dubbed from a variety of sources. Maybe eventually have to buy a new MP3 player with more capacity (I don't want music on my phone).
Music radio stations today play the same 300-500 tracks and read pretty much the same promotional liners over and over and over and over. Most talk programming on radio (or satellite) is controversial, sensationalistic, and/or political.
Yeah, I know all of that stuff works with the general public...it's a business aimed at the masses. That's fine...I get it. It's just not for me.
So, with respect to radio/TV...2012 for me means even less listening to most radio stations (or streaming), and very, very little TV (not much of a change for me). It's not that I won't listen to radio or watch TV at all...just less and less. The content is so bland, there's not much out there that's very compelling.
