predictions for top song of 2012?

Does anyone have any predictions for the top song of 2012? Here's my list,
1. Carlie Ray Jebson - Call Me Maybe
2. Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know
3. Fun - We Are Young. Any other thoughts?

Based on total spins year-to-date Mediabase has these as the top 5:

1. The Wanted: Glad You Came (291,222 spins)
2. Ellie Goulding: Lights (277,152)
3. Gotye: Somebody That I Used To Know (276,366)
4. Carly Rae Jepsen: Call Me Maybe (267,696)
5. Fun: We Are Young (264,154)

Before I checked their list my guess was CRJ. Not sure how telling this list is...

Yeah,Mediabase is a real spoiler. I'm more excited for the Billboard Hot 100 of 2012, to which my predictions are:
1. Gotye-Somebody
2. Kelly Clarkson-Stronger
3. Carly Rae- Call Me Maybe

We should dig up the old Ellie Goulding- Lights topic where no one originally predicted it to do that well at CHR. Now its looking like the #2 song of the year- not too shabby for a song that peaked late summer and didn't really impact CHR until June.

I didn't think it would go anywhere either. When I first heard it I think it was in February if not November of 2011, I thought it was kind of a cool song but didn't think it would go anywhere. Actually it was November of 2011, I remember hearing it on KCDA when I listened as I was looking at college stuff and hearing it on KCDA after hearing it on KPLZ for a couple weeks. Not bad.

[In my best Casey Kasem voice...]
..And the #1 song in the land for 2012 is.... (drum roll)....

Somebody That I Used to Know by the Dutch/Australian singer Gotye and that hot Kiwi Kimbra.

http://www.billboard.com/news/the-b...tory#/charts-year-end/hot-100-songs?year=2012

2. Call Me Maybe
3. We Are Young
4. Payphone
5. Lights

..And there you have it, folks, the biggest songs in the U.S. of A. Now, keep your feet planted on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.

American Top 40 (Seacrest) has listed their top of 2012. The top 5 are

1 The Wanted - Glad You Came
2 Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know
3 Fun - We Are Young
4 Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
5 Ellie Goulding - Lights

^According to Mediabase (CHR/Pop Airplay), #1 for the year is "We Found Love" by Rihanna - "Lights" is #4 - weird...

I thought Mediabase had more stations on their panel than BDS (i. e. Billboard), but I didn't think it was enough to make that much of a difference

That is a little weird. I thought that AT40 took from Mediabase? The At40 chart seemed to resemble that of the Mediabase chart that was posted here a couple weeks ago.

AT40 adds up the airplay of only its affiliate stations, so that's definitely not the official #1 of the year (they also don't count airplay before and after a song charts in the Top 40)

I'm surprised these ones were not higher on the list:

"Titanium" (#24)
"Give Your Heart a Break" (#39)
"Scream" (#44)
"Gangnam Style" (#47)
"Without You" (#50)
"Don't Wake Me Up" (#56)
"Rumour Has It" (#64)
"Let's Go" (#65)
"Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)" (#74)
"Pound the Alarm" (#75)

I'm surprised these ones were not higher on the list:

"Titanium" (#24) I don't think that one even cracked the top 10, did it?
"Give Your Heart a Break" (#39) This might have had a better chance if Cumulus wasn't so conservative, how long did they wait before finally adding it? Seems as if Star here in Seattle waited a while as well, I heard it on WLHT a good month before I heard it on Star.
"Scream" (#44)
"Gangnam Style" (#47) Yes the chart run of this song has been really weird. Seemed like in September it was #1 on every local count down, and was in the top spot on ITunes for like 2 months, but never cracked the top 5 on AT40.
"Without You" (#50) Didn't this have most of its chart run in 2011?
"Don't Wake Me Up" (#56) Probably had too short of a run, didn't get released till September.
"Rumour Has It" (#64) This one didn't seem to take off like Addelle's other songs have.
"Let's Go" (#65)
"Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)" (#74) Same as Don't Wake Me Up to probably a greater extent.
"Pound the Alarm" (#75)

If you are Jan Jeffries, your list will look something like this.

1. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
2. Jay Sean - Down
3. Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
4. Katy Perry - California Gurls (no rap edit)
5. The Cataracts - Like a G6
