Well it looks like the winter Ratings are in....it Shows CBS'S 92.5 the Wolf has Dropped to a 1.3. I wonder if a Format change is underway??

Oh yeah, How about when Jammin was on 92.5, i don't ever seem the Ratings dropping that low, but yet CBS had a good idea that trying Country again would do better ;D

thoughts.. ???

anything thoughts on any other possible Format changes for 08 ???

Top 40 as either Q 92.5 Denver's #1 Hit Music Station or as Z 92.5 Denver's #1 Hit Music Station or B 92.5 Denver's #1 Hit Music Station.

How about a true Urban A/C: Movin 92.5 or Oldschool 92.5. The party 95.7 is cool but Denver is missing the classic soul and today's R&B music (deeper tracks), just like Jammin was playing; but, with more of today's R&B. Call it the new KDKO. The billboard signs can illustrate the Denver Sports team, old emblem (old school) and the new emblem (and today's R & B). Man, that would be too cool or what!!

I think a TOP 40 or Rthymic Top 40 would work on 92.5...also because of where it location is...http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=KWLI&service=FM&status=L&hours=U

you would be able to compete with CC's KSME 96.1 FM. why not try a similar format of CBS'S KZON 101.5 Jamz in Phoenix??

Thoughts..??

Also Because of Where KWLI's Tower in Longmont....Country on 92.5 is also competing with Cheyenne's KOLT 92.9/KQMY 97.9/KUAD 99.1/KOLZ 100.7.
Most of the coverage area from north of Fort collins fron Cheyenne and covering just north of Longmont is why country on 92.5 probably won't work.. ???

just my thoughts....??

KOLT-FM 92.9 was running regional Mexican last I heard. Radio Locator may still list it as country because those calls were country in Scottsbluff, but the format didn't move to Cheyenne. As for the idea that KWLI is competing with KUAD, KQMY, and KOLZ, it's really not. KWLI doesn't care about Ft. Collins, and it does few, if any, sales there. The same can be said for KUAD, KQMY and KOLZ and Denver. Listening only defines half of your competition; sales drives the other half. If you don't have both, you don't have competition!

Ok, this all may be true, however, this still takes away from KWLI'S numbers a little.....being said, why not try something different, Country was already done @ 92.5 before and failed. Give the 92.5 Fequency something new

I'll say it again, Denver is one of most Stale, Nathargic markets i've ever been in being supposedly a top 25 major market ::)

Hi everyone:

I'm thinking an FM talker of some kind (Not a FREE FM however). I'm also thinking ALL NEWS (e.g. WINS). Hey, it works down in Colorado Springs on 105.5. If CBS decides to go the all-news route, I'm thinking KCNC-FM for the calls. Newscasts would initially be anchored by CBS 4 staffers.

Another possible route it could go is sports, but looking at the success of the LF cluster, that might not be such a hot idea.

Comments?

There must be something behind that decision, because Party seems to be one of the only Rhythmic AC's seeing any growth these days.

Party is doing what Jammin should have done, by playing more R&B music along with the old Motown Hits of the 70s & 80s. Except Party is nothing more than an IPOD of about 200 songs they play over and over. No Specialty or mixing shows, Party has no specific target audience....such as a Jammin or a Hot95.1 in Albuequrque would.............

CBS Didn't want to Keep Jammin and they let it Fail.........

I say a top 40-or Rythmic.....would be good at the 92.5 Frequency......

how about like Z 92.5 or Q 92.5 or B 92.5, or G 92.5? for a top 40 station. In fact that'd be excellent if CBS made 92.5 The Wolf was Top 40 as one of those 4 names.

I just visited Denver over the Christmas holiday and I thought 92.5 sounded pretty good. But if they aren't doing good in ratings then I think a Top 40 station would be awesome in Denver.

It'll be interesting to see IF someone did (which I doubt anytime soon), what their approach would be against KS.

I know, I know... a lot of "radio people" aren't impressed by KS, but apparently a lot of listeners are. With or without competition, they've always been on top. They obviously have a finger on the pulse of the market.

So, what is that someone needs to do to compete... aside from being prepared to spend some serious money for marketing.

Just curious if anyone has any legitimate ideas/thoughts.

Well I don't know if they do this in Denver but the Twin Cities here the CC stations advertise on other CC stations. So CBS could advertise it on there other radio stations such as KYGO and advertise it on the CBS station in Denver. Also come up with clever slogans that could go on bilborads around the metro. In addition they would need to get some excellent on-air staff that has expierence and the advertise them too.

I think mainstream top 40 is the only logical format hole. Why put another Rhythmic in Denver when you already have KS, plus Party for the older listeners. 92.5 doesnt have the signal that KS does. I would say KS and KYGO have the two strongest signals in Denver, I say they are about even. KS may even be a bit stronger since their stick is located right in town, and KYGO is located out near Evergreen and leaves a dead spot if your in the shadow of the mountains in west Denver suburbs, as does 96.5.

I would agree I think because of where 92.5's tower is...(North of Denver in Longmont) this is one(Of many Reasons) Jammin Failed because of the signal.
CBS should change to a Main stream TOP 40 & compete with CC's Top 40 KSME 96.1 in Fort Collins...they could easily win because of where KSME's Tower is.
