Preds and Lightning 100

Obviously a longer series of programming conflicts than has happened before, but it's for real. Predators sent out an email blast about it and Lightning has announced it on-air.

Lightning 100 (WRLT) is what remains the old WIZO-FM licensed to Franklin. Pretty much invisable outside Davidson and Williamson counties. Stuck a class "A" and wedged between much bigger signals at 99.7 and 100.3. The antenna is 1134 feet up on the side of the WKDF WNRQ 1230 foot tower in Brentwood but is limited to a little over 200 watts. Gets a lot of press but kind of like what Everett Lawson once said about WKDA "you can see the sign further than you can hear the signal". Referring to the large neon WKDA later KDF sign that was on top of the Stahlman building in downtown Nashville.

I think that doing the Preds game on WRLT is a good idea. I know Dan Buckley over there, and I've always told him he would make a fantastic play by play announcer and he has a good sports background.

Now all of you will hate me for saying this, but since WRLT is doing such a great of being a "local station" away from the group owners, they should do High School Football on Friday nights. They should do a "game of the week", like what you see on comcast. Some of the AM's like WNQM, WNVL, WVOL, WYFN, WPLN-AM, etc, won't drop thier primary format for H.S. Football for the Davidson County High Schools, and I think that is so sad!

WNAH is doing Goodpasture, and with thier low 30 watts, they do have quite a few listeners for that.

If you consider selling sports drinks at Mapco as having a good sports background, then I guess so. :D

Lightning 100 broadcast the hockey game without a hippie anthem nor Team Green protesting the destruction of innocent trees in making hockey sticks.

Actually I did serve as the sports anchor for a year back in High School. For the most part Lakeboy is right though. By the way, how do you know me Lakeboy ? :-\
