It's actually a political lobby effort by Nextar and other companies to block efforts to limit how many stations A NATIONAL COMPANY MAY OWN.

So to put it simply: Preservelocaltv.com is blcoking efforts to preserve local ownership (so that one national company can own more than one station in the same market.
