Presets/Omnia info wanted

Looking for presets for Optimod 8400/8500 that anyone is willing to share on the board or through PM. Also wanting to know if and how Omnias utilitze band coupling in the AGC/Limiters.

Omnias approach is to give you control of the freeze gating on each band to prevent excessive gain build up. IMHO it's not as good as a coupling control but it's better than nothing.

Actually, there is some 'hidden' buried coupling among a few bands. BUT, it only becomes active based upon certain frequency balance situations. For the most part, the bands are independent, more often than not.

Well you learn something every day! Frank, while we're on the topic, I'm persevering with an old Unity 2000, (the one that's running Easy AC and was previously running prisms and CHR Hostile).

I've since removed the prisms, and made the following adjustments.

CHR Friendly
Bass/Mid cross-over 150hz from 180hz
Reduced drive slightly to all limiters
Reduced bass in Limiter final mix

I have a sound I and the PD are quite pleased with compared to the other stations in the market, although it's the only easy listening station.

One small issue I would still like to adress and it is with regards to band coupling.

During passages of low level material the bassline often over powers the mix. Normally I would increase the band coupling or increase the gate level on the bass bands. What would you suggest on the unity?

Thanks
Stace

PS for a station turning over $1m per month you would think they could afford a new O6!

I'd try raising the GATE Level in the Low Band.

well then here's something else i'd like to know. do the people on this board who use the digital optimods use any band coupling? the 4th and 5th bands are coupled at 100% in every single preset in our 8400 box. bass agc is almost always coupled to the master agc by 30%, and bands 3 and 4 are always coupled at 30%.
