Presque Isle getting digital Fox affiliate

Yes, the country's 5th-smallest market is about to become a two-station town...sort of. The existing CBS affiliate WAGM is going to start a Fox digital subchannel in October.

Right now, the only Fox programming available in the region comes from the national FoxNet feed on cable, and whatever shows that over-the-air viewers can get from CTV or Global in Canada.

If you watch their video newscast they say they're planning a 10:00 newscast. Mind you, this is in a market that doesn't even have a daily newspaper. It'll be interesting to see if it succeeds.

It looks like WAGM-DT is on channel 16 with a crappy 3,000 watt signal. Better get a good roof antenna up there in potato country!

Speaking of Presque Isle TV, what network will that other recent broadcaster be carrying? (I think it's supposed to be channel 47 or something.)

I loved watching this newscast.

Aside from the FOX story, the local follow up on the airport safety story was interrupted by an EAS warning for a severe thunderstorm...on the recorded stream, too! (That throws you off.)

That, and the regional news about New Brunswick.

Fascinating.
