THE “2 LIVE STEWS” DOG-POUND GOES NATIONAL

ATLANTA, GA- Sports Radio 790 The Zone’s afternoon drive program, “The 2 Lives Stews” with hosts Doug and Ryan Stewart, hits the national airwaves on Monday, January 30th on the Syndication One Network. Syndication One is a Radio One/ Reach Media Company that also syndicate Tom Joyner. The Stew’s garnered national attention when they were featured in the November, 2004 Sports Illustrated issue. The article highlighted how the two brothers came into the sports talk radio format and are changing the “lily-white” image of sports talk listeners. Since then, the Stews have had an 8-week episode run on ESPN2’s “Block Party” in the summer of 2005, won “Best Sports Talk Show in 2005” at the Sports Radio Conference in Phoenix, AZ., have been featured on ESPN2’s Cold Pizza program, the Tom Joyner Show, and local Atlanta magazines and newspapers.

The Stewart brothers started their promising careers at night on 790 The Zone, broadcasting live from 9:00 PM-11:00 PM. They progressed to 7:00 PM-9:00 PM, then 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, and in the current position of hosting afternoon drive, 3:00 PM-7:00 PM.

Additional markets include:
Seattle, Cleveland, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Birmingham, Little Rock, Dayton, Richmond, Mobile, Baton Rouge, Savannah, Tallahassee, and Beaumont.

The “2 Live Stews,” along with all of 790 The Zone’s local radio programs (“Mayhem in the AM,” “The Chris Dimino Show,” and “Monsters of the Midday”), will broadcast live from Detroit to cover Super Bowl XL. All shows depart Tuesday, February 1 and will broadcast live from Media Row through Friday, February 3.

I'm up here in Dayton; and I was caught by surprise wondering what was going wrong with my local ESPN affiliate. Five minutes was all I could take. I'll give it another try after the Super Bowl, when they settle down after their initial time in syndication.

And the image of Atlanta radio gets yet another sharp stick in the national eye (which, come to think of it, is preferable to having to listen to the 2 Loud Stews).
