929 dave fm Sells Their Playlist for Charity
The Inaugural Call to AuCTION for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity
(Atlanta, Georgia)…929 dave fm invites listeners to purchase and pirate the airwaves for the Inaugural Call to AuCTION, which gets underway Friday, December 9th at 9am. For three days, 929 dave fm will surrender the format of the station to listeners willing to donate funds to support Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. An auction of rock memorabilia will be held simultaneously, also to support Atlanta Habitat. The auction includes a variety of items from Dave Matthews Band, R.E.M., Widespread Panic, Robert Plant, John Mayer, Mark Knopfler, and MANY more. The request-a-thon gives listeners control of the playlist by pledging donations for song requests, starting at $50. The more outrageous the request, the higher the price to have it played. Hours for Call to AuCTION are Friday, December 9th, 9am-12am, Saturday, December 10th, 9am to 9pm, and Sunday, December 11th from 10am to 6pm.
Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, one of more than 1,700 U.S. affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable homeownership opportunities to Atlanta’s low-income families. Since 1983, volunteers from corporations, faith-based and civic organizations have worked in partnership with qualified homebuyers to construct quality, affordable homes, which homebuyers then purchase through no-interest, no-profit mortgages. For more information about Atlanta Habitat, please visit www.atlantahabitat.org or call (404) 223-5180, ext. 111.
Executive Director of Atlanta Habitat, Larrie Del Martin, is enthusiastic about 929 dave fm’s inaugural Call to AuCTION, “We are so happy to be working with a radio station that truly understands our mission and the needs of the City of Atlanta. With the help of dave fm, we can spread the word about the benefits of our affordable homeownership program, and raise critical dollars to support hardworking families that dream of owning a home. The generosity and action of dave fm and all of its listeners will help make the holidays and the future bright for Atlanta families.”
