ATLANTA GA – EAGLE 106.7FM, WYAY-FM in Atlanta, announces its move to a new tower site, increasing the radio coverage area.
According to ABC Atlanta Radio President, Victor Sansone, "This move is now concluded after nearly two years of work and planning by ABC radio engineers, and is a significant improvement to our radio product. We are delighted to now offer a choice of Atlanta-based country stations to the southside audience".
"This move will allow southside listeners to now hear EAGLE with a city grade signal. The downtown reception is much improved", quoted Mark Richards, Operations Manager. EAGLE 106.7FM formerly was broadcasting from their main transmitter site located northeast of Atlanta at Flowery Branch. The new site is twenty miles closer to the city center of Atlanta in Walton County near Loganville, GA. Atlanta is the 10th largest radio rated market in the United States.
EAGLE 106.7FM is the second rated country station in the Atlanta radio market, and showcases country music featuring the legends of the format and the best of today. EAGLE 106.7FM is home of the Rhubarb Jones and Dallas McCade morning show, the longest running morning radio show in Atlanta.
WYAY-FM is part of ABC Radio, Incorporated, and part of The Walt Disney Company.

You must have gotten the new & improved version of the press release.
The one I got said "The new site is twenty-five miles closer to the city center
of Atlanta in Monroe County near Stone Mountain, GA."

That had me scratching my head pretty good.

It says Eagle is the second rated country station in Atlanta. That's really good.

This is a great move! It should be fun to see how it works out in the ratings. Eagle is a good product, but the Chestnut Mountain site is really too far for good market coverage. Also at night, most of their signal covers an area where 104.3 WKHC broadcasts the same ABC satellite Real Country programming. That's not good.<P ID="signature">______________

I have a Grundig Satellit radio--I can pick up 104.3 out of Dahlonega at my home in Virginia Highlands. I think that is pretty amazing. Eagle is still fuzzy at best. I don't listen to country anyway- so it is a moot point for me.

You can see the tower behind my house in Loganville pretty good from GA HWY 81...along next to 104.7 the Fish and 95-5 the Beat's two towers and WHSG TBN 63. The signal bleeds all over the radio dial.

Well, I can tell you that tonight is the first time I've ever heard The Eagle down here in Columbus above WKMX Dothan, AL during normal reception conditions. The signal does fade out occasionally, but it's nice to here something else on 106.7 besides KMX.
