Ken Messer, General Manager of KIMA-TV/KEPR-TV, Yakima/Tri-Cities, has been selected as the
2005 Broadcaster of the Year by the Washington State Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors.
Ken has served on the WSAB Board of Directors since 1999 and was Board Chair in 2004. He was instrumental in bringing the Yakima Valley Visitor & Convention Bureau into the WSAB Public Education Partnership Program. In addition, he spearheaded WSAB's involvement in the Washington tourism/economic stimulus public service announcement campaign, shortly after the September 11, 2001 attacks on America.
Ken served has on the WSAB Legislative Committee for a number of years and has actively engaged public policy makers from city council members to local congressmen to assist in advancing the interests of broadcasters. He has worked diligently in Yakima on economic development and served as a member of the State Tourism Advisory Board.
