1053 The Buzz signs morning host Whip to extended contract
Atlanta, Georgia. November 16, 2005 – WBZY, 1053 the Buzz and current morning host, Whip, have reached an agreement that will keep Whip with Atlanta’s newest Alternative Rock station for the next two years. Whip is a nationally recognized air-talent with a host of marquee radio stations on his resume: K-Rock NY, KTBZ Houston and prior to WBZY he had a year stint at crosstown Alternative station 99X.
"2 more years!! 2 more years!! Or as long as they'll have me at the Buzz,” said Whip immediately following the contract signing the morning. “I'm honored that I've been invited to the party.”
“This was an important signing for the future of 1053 the Buzz.” said Chris Williams, Program Director of 1053 the Buzz. “I have been a fan of Whip for several years. His personality and creativity are an important part of the team we are building to create a fun, innovative, and unpredictable rock station for Atlanta.”
Whip was the first DJ on the air after WBZY launched back in May at the frequency 105.3FM. He hosts weekday mornings 6AM-10AM. The rest of the line-up of 1053 the Buzz is Aly 10A-3P, Program Director Chris 3p-7p, Loveline 10P-Midnight and Double Down from Midnight-6AM.
