Preview of 1170's new format

I can picture the Courier News headline already:

"Geezers Rejoice As Big Band Returns to the Radio"

<a target="_blank" href=http://www.geocities.com/kevtronics/ac/wbrw.mp3>http://www.geocities.com/kevtronics/ac/wbrw.mp3</a>

Seriously, though, the "Real People, Real Music, Real Radio" full-service format lasted less than a year, because it wasn't making enough Real Money. Here's 1170's history to date:

December 1970 - December 1990: full service music/talk (original WBRW)
December 1990 - February 1997: off the air
February 1997 - December 1997: full service music/talk (revived WBRW)
December 1997 - April 1999: syndicated "One On One Sports" (WBRW, WSPW, WWTR)
April 1999 - January 2004: WMTR Adult Standards simulcast (WWTR)
January 2004 - October 2005: WMTR Classic Oldies simulcast (WWTR)
November 2005 - ?: "EBC Radio" South Asian music/talk (W???)

BTW, that audio clip was recorded all of about 6 miles away from 1170's transmitter, yet WWVA's skywave signal was still bleeding through in the background. Behold the massive signal of New Jersey's lowest-power AM station!
