Previously lost aircheck found: WTVN-FM Columbus, OH - Beautiful Music circa 1961

Bob Purse's blog just recently added this 1 hour open reel recording. I had nothing to do with it. The fidelity isn't great, it seems to be one of those place-mic-near-speaker-walk-away airchecks, but anything of this vintage is rare.
The only announcement is a legal ID followed by a "Fight Communism with Radio Free Europe" PSA with a P.O. Box 1961 address, which I believe RFE updated each year.
WOW, thanks for the info. Got/spot-checked that particular file, will listen to it later. We had a couple of these where I was born and raised, even up until the early '90s, actually three of them, now that I think of it, but one of which I never heard in that format, 'til later. The first one I ever heard, was FM 100.3, WGLD, High Point, NC (especially around Nap Time and even on a vacation up in the mountains, hearing them over the local Cable channel as a little kid LOL), the second, FM 94.5, WWMY, Eden, NC (that went into the early '90s) and the third, FM 103.3, WAKG, Danville, VA (I believe they were Beautiful Music/Easy Listening until maybe the early '80s, heard them on a friend's mixtape), I first actually heard them after changing formats, first knew them as Country Sunshine, one Saturday morning in the early/mid-'80s. Thanks for the memories and for introducing me to another neat blog.

Upon further spot-checking of this interesting find, there are two voice breaks. Both have IDs and promos, with the first being one for the station and it's programming and the other being the RFE of which you spoke. Given the trigger tones before each of these voice breaks (the only talking I've found hereon thus far), I can't help but wonder, if this isn't something recorded off the station, but something used on it. One thing that disrupts my conjecture, though, is the sudden fade right before the first tone and voice break. IMHO as well, this sounds too much like a direct patch, rather than someone putting a mic close to the radio, then walking away. I know direct patches from tape to radio were done in those days (I've posted a few found elsewhere then tweaked), just thinking out loud. Also, I know tape condition is a factor, but I also wonder, if some of these songs weren't played from 78s, such as one of the violin cuts?
