I was looking for someplace to put this.

Why did NBC dramas have the regular credits, with the theme song, instead of standardized credits and a preview of the upcoming episode or some other show?

Are you talking about when the local station "squeezes back" the closing credits and runs a show promo? With the exception where two network shows run back to back, (like FOX) that's up to the individual local station. They're the one who does the squeeze.

No, the network does it. There's no squeezing involved.
