Priorities out of whack at NBC5?

sick puppies. bless their hearts I feel for them...I really do but to have the first 7-8 minutes of
your major market newscast devoted to it? I don't think so and then they follow it up
with "a 5 year old girl has been shot in Burleson" Something doesn't seem
quite right. Oh yeah, there's also an ongoing investigation in Kaufman County regarding an assistant
DA being gunned down. NBC5 Proud as a peacock

Never assume you know why they led with what they had. Could easily have been a problem with the story on the 5 year old shot story that caused the producer to float it.

I agree. It's likely that they were having production problems with the top stories. Now, we could discuss WHY they were having problems...

I recall years ago on my travels catching the late news on a station out of Albuquerque. In their first block they had THREE live shots that weren't ready when introduced. It wasn't until I saw the "Voted Best Newscast in New Mexico" in their closing credits that I was informed that I had caught them on an off night.
