I find it sad that there's more interest on this board in Star's HD channel or what the Beat is up to than there is in the untimley passing of Dan Kiely.

Dan revitalized and grew what was already a kick-ass radio station, and even with his personal demons, he made a huge impact on the landscape of LA radio.

And all we can talk about is whether Joyner is better than Salley?

C'mon...

Exactly my thoughts. Goes to show the percentage of actual folks in the industry I think....or the atmosphere here that's created sometimes.
In any event, God Bless Dan Kieley, he was a very talented guy.

My guess is that those who worked with Kieley at KIIS have moved on in the intervening years and so there are very few of them around to post accolades.

Besides, it NEVER surprises me that people would rather gossip and speculate than anything else.
______________

Dan was a nice guy. He did great work at the stations he worked. I met him when he was @ B96 in Chicago...long ago. I had kept in touch with him until a few years ago when my professional activities took me in a vastly different direction, but still followed his adventures. He was very talented and I wished him nothing but the best. I was glad to see was still doing good work in broadcasting with his consulting business. It is sad to see him go so early - my condolences to his family and friends.
______________
