PRO-FM 20 years ago

I miss David Simpson. That guy was awsome. Very relaxed behind the Mic.. but not boring at all. Very confident sounding jock. I used to call him up and he would always ask if I saw The Love Boat. I think it was his favorite show... lol. Really nice guy. We would spend 15 minutes on the phone talking nonsense. He didn't need to do that. He honestly didn't know me from a hole in the wall. But he would still sit there and talk to me every time I called as if we were good friends. How many DJ's will do that? My guess is not many at all.

And look at how far we haven't come in 20 years. David Simpson was a good jock but not the best looking guy in the world, or rather he didn't look like he sounded or what you expected a PRO FM jock to look like. There's still a David doing that shift and he looks the part, but......

You arn't kidding. The first time I saw Simpson was when I was hanging out with singer Laura Branigan. Dave was doing a remote from Ann & Hope in Seekonk. I was like.. holy crap... What the F is this. My first reaction was.... THIS NERD IS DAVID SIMPSON??? It's not meant as an insult either. I said the same thing about Howard Stern back in 1984.... and Howard looked like an even bigger Nerd than Simpson did. Just sometimes it totally throws you for a loop to see who is behind the voice.
