Pro-FM's Birthday this week?

38 years!! i am going my memory here (if i am wrong feel free to let me know) April 29 will be PRo-fm's 38th birthday. I recall working at WXIN (RI College) radio back in the early 90's and we received FMQB, and at the time they put out radio cd's with new music and station airchecks, and one of them was for PRo, and it started off with the teaser announcement of the format change "wpro-fm will be changing it's programming matter starting midnight monday, april 29, from it's present format to stereo rock" then went into the aircheck portion.

wish i kept this cd, or made a copy of it, so if my memory is right congrats on making it this long, a rarity for a chr these days.
 
I remember when stations used to have big Birthday bashes. Pro-FM was always one of them who celebrated their Birthday with a big concert. Do they still do this, or are those days long over?
 
well i left rhode island in 2007, (houston now) i haven't heard of them doing anything big in years?? hope they do for their 40th!! (crosses fingers)
 
too bad for there anniversary they won't change formats!! hey a person can dream!!

If everyone had to take a guess, what disease do you think will end up killing Pro-FM?
