We have several well equipped G4 Macs. Recently one of them was unceremoniously "updated" by an intern. The poor guy thought he was updating Safari and somehow really goobered up this machine. It had Pro Tools 6.4 in it, and still does, but the main system drive might be shot because of this "upgrade". now I am wondering how new of a version I can run on one of these Power PC based machines..Will PT 7 run okay? I think PT 8 requires the newer Intel based machines..same with the new PT9...so most likely Pro Tools LE 7 is as far as I can go with this.
I am getting a new hard drive sent to me with a fresh install of OS X that I can install and use as a system drive...in order to get this thing booted up. Then I may have to reinstall Pro Tools.
We use MBox 2 interfaces, and I would like to find installation discs with valid serial numbers for the latest version I can run on this PPC Mac. Anyone want to sell me a set? Emai me
The other studios are humming along with Windows 7 and Audition 3.0..but these are my Pro Tools units we use for adding new audio to existing video. I know, I know I need to get out of the stone age and buy new Macs...urrrrrgh
