Probably a stupid question, but...

...how does AM/FM radio reception sound inside Chicago (downtown) with a cheap radio, say a walkman or boombox? I would think it would be hard with all the concrete, not to mention if you're close to the Willis Tower/John Hancock Center.

Quick Answer is not very good. The "concrete jungle" sucks out a lot of the AM signals, although more often than not, reception levels are still acceptable. With FM, one of the main problems (among several) is multipath distortion.
