Problem with Scott Studios SS32

We are using Scott Studios SS32 at our station along with the VT32 program. Anytime we open the VT32 program in our voice tracking studio, the SS32 computer in our main control room starts re-cuing the schedule. It re-cues every few minutes. Sometimes SS32 re-cues on its own. We lose our work and any changes we've made to the schedule. How do I stop this from happening? Please help if you can!!

We don't have tech support from them anymore. Can't call them. Just trying to figure out if anybody else has experienced this problem and how they fixed it.

The problem is with your owner, GM, or school/university not the automation system.

Never seen this problem before, but one call to support would probably fix it.

Now that's not very nice, is it? The poor guy is just trying to get a little help here...

Anyway, Whit, haven't seen that problem either, but I bet there's a log update setting somewhere that's not right. Try posting your question on the Scott listserver at broadcast dot net: http://www.broadcast.net/mailman/listinfo/scott-i

This is a result of using the segue editor and voice tracking the current day. When you do this you are creating small edit list files, or vti files, and changing or creating these force the schedule to reload.

The easiest way to avoid this is to not use the segue editor when VTing the current day.

Hope this helps

Its been a few years but I recall that there "might" be a setting in the Dispatch server that tells the air studio how often to update when there are changes. If it exist, change it to update not automatically but on a preset interval.

I didn't know the programming of the dispatch server very well but I think that there was an option for this.

You might also contact DMARK and see if they would do a one time thing for support using a credit card. Some companies do.

Hope this helps

Yeah, it dumps and rebuilds the Table of Contents on the SS32 (air) computer at preset intervals or automatically. Ours is set for every 90 minutes. If anyone else uses SS32, how often does your dispatch reload the TOC?

I was about to suggest the same thing...the Scott list is very helpful (thought its been quiet lately!!) Ask on there..some of the factory guys lurk on it and will answer questions for free (but dont expect that all the time)
