Problem with TFT EAS 911

Has anyone encountered a problem with the TFT EAS 911 boxes changing from automatic forwarding to manual forwarding (or vise versa) all by itself? If so, what was the cause?

Yes. The cause was a power failure and a dead lithium battery inside. You probably had a power glitch or failure. If the unit is not on an UPS and your battery is dead (or near dead) the unit may screw up.

I would try replacing your battery and finding a UPS if you don't already have one. Should end your problems.
 
Bad board. Channel 1 decoder was dead, it would flip modes and the printer inhibit relay was inoperative. TFT said there was nothing wrong, but I had them replace the motherboard anyway since it had a warranty.

We're on day 52 of repair.

I agree. The other problem you'll find if you don't UPS it is that the 911 will lose all of it's programming. A common occurance for the TFT.<P ID="signature">______________

Besides the battery fix, there is also a circuit mod that helps prevent memory loss problems: http://www.tftinc.com/support/bulletins/911MEMLS.pdf

I went through our TFT 911 after it started having memory and printer problems, and applied all the circuit mods, replaced the battery, and cleaned all the connections between the boards. Our TFT 911 is on a UPS as well. So far, it's held up well since the checkup.

I had the same problems Jon did, with the same solution, get up to date on all the circuit mods. when you're done, double check all of your fips codes.
