Problems With KPTK's Stream

There is a problem with the segmentation on the KPTK stream. For the second hour in a row, instead of the second segment at :24 after, I heard the end of the first segment replayed. Then it picked up on the third segment as scheduled.

Maybe you should contact KPTK about the problem instead of posting it here. http://www.am1090seattle.com/pages/16201.php has all the info you need. However, your call may go through as the lines may be overloaded with all those online listeners already calling to complain.

I can tell you that all of KPTK's staff members work diligently to resolve any problems you may have listening. Care and precaution is assured. We as a staff, in a very timely manner, take your important comments to heart, in an attempt to improve your listening experience of KPTK. Thank you for your comments, we will make adjustments to our system to assure the continued listenablilty of our online stream. Your passion is welcomed, onward and up-ward. :) Any suggestions you have, continue to post.

Thanks!

The operations manager of KPTK and support staff work very hard to make the station run smoothly. All very stand-up people. A lot goes into what makes that station work the way it does.

As with many automated systems, this is not entirely a problem of just one station alone. You'd be surprised at what sometmes happens at highly rated music stations...on the air...(hearing the same VT'ed intro and song TWICE in a row, etc.) Nature of The Beast....

I do realize that KPTK isn't the only CBS/StreamTheWorld station to be affected by this "segmentation" problem. When I've heard the online stream of WRBQ/Tampa Bay, going into a stopset, I would hear about a minute of a song played on the air about ten minutes prior, then the online spots would begin.

At any rate, I did notice that, as of yesterday morning, the problem appears to be rectified with respect to the KPTK stream. It proves that they really do care about their listeners - be it in Seattle or elsewhere...
