Processing clips

Hey Cornelius,

How far away is the Omnia ONE AM?

Does it comes with the same presets as the FM variant, modified for AM use?

We're waiting to order one and bring the station alive with the Cosmic preset!

Regards,

Matt

Hi, there Matt!

I've been busy working on other processing projects, and am still getting familiar with things that were rolling along since I've been back, so as to the *exact* state of the rollout, I couldn't tell you, but I do know they guys are working hard on it, and it looks like it's going to be out there soon.

Since I like poking around with presets, I did see the guys working on those, and got to hear a few AM presets, and they've done some amazing work on them! There is quite a variety there, and I think you'll be surprised with what they came up with for AM. I certainly was!

I've been playing around with an Omnia One the past couple of weeks, and that's a pretty remarkable processor, I must say. I'm sure I'll have some "CG" presets for the Omnia One in the upcoming weeks for those who like what I do with Omnia 6 series, so stay tuned! I've already made some inroads in that area...because I can't help myself. 8)

Give me a processor, and access to the secret stuff, and I'll start customizing!

Ive been tinkering with the New 8500s looking for something with a texture like the 8100XT2. Pleanty of presence, and an open bassline. Not sure if it will import on to an 8300 as well, but if you would like to try it PM me and I'll pass it over. I'll upload a clip or too soon.

Mr. Gould really loves his job, doesn't he? ;D Yeah it's fun to play around with audio processors. 8)

Hi Everyone-

I don't post on here very often, so I'm not too sure about protocol. (Disclosure: My husband Bill Sacks and I refurbish/ upgrade analog Optimods as a factory authorized service center.)

I just shipped out an 8100, that Bill refurbished, for our friend Jorge in Chile. I've just uploaded check recordings of his 8100.

I included some Steely Dan (for Bill's old friend David Reaves).
Bill prefers orchestral music for listening audits and I uploaded one of his favorites, a robust recording of Stars-n-Stripes. I've also included some typical AOR cuts as well.

All of the recordings were done off of the composite output of the 8100 feeding a rechipped, and recapped Belar stereo monitor feeding a Henry Engineering USB Match Plus (full disclosure: Bill and I designed and prototyped the USB MatchPlus for Henry Engineering in our shop.)

For more information please visit our websites- http://www.optimod.fm and http://www.optimod.am

I'm unable to edit my last post...

I just wanted to add that some of the cuts I uploaded may have "pops and clicks" in them due to the fact that the computer was trying to run a virus scan at the same time as recording. Please ignore those pops and clicks if you hear them, as they were not audible when listening to the 8100 in real time.

If you can find a copy which isn't totally chewed up, try the London vinyl of DeFalla's Three Cornered Hat. If the processor can pass the fanfare without munging it up, it's doing a fair job (the 8100 will do a nice job on it). Herald (unbent) trumpets, castanets, a male chorus, and a tympani which plays a riff in the background. It used to be my fave tape recorder check music as well.
For a quicker test, Kenny and Dolly's Islands In The Stream. If the proc amp can get it loud without ruining Kenny's rasp and Dolly's breathiness, it's doing allright.

Island in the stream is a very good track to test processing! Our easy listening station plays it often through the 8500. Other good processing 'axel-breakers' include almost anything from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and also U2_Where the streets have no name. Its fun to watch the band 4 and 5 limiters on this one, very busy indeed!

Hi all !! I've been reading this board arround 1 month ago, there is no community like this in all over south america, I found here very useful comments & advices, so thanks to all, I just uploaded at the goran thomas processing clips file server a file wich is a recording of the radio station I work Paraguay FM in Asuncion, I would like to hear some opinions about my on air sound in general

Another clip added... this time a latin pop track, I would like to thank Goran Thomas, because I uploaded these files without his permission, I hope he don't bother :)

Hi All,

Can anybody post some samples of WHTZ or KIIS FM?

Would love to hear some :)
Cheers

First of all, sorry for bumping such an old but interesting thread.

I've got a few links for you to soundprocessing files of a radiostation which stopped early 2010.
The chain has been designed for them by me and it's completely build with VST plugins. This gives it a very special signature sound which you will probably hate or love.
The first ideas for this chain came back in 1999 and it took me quite a while before I reached what I wanted to get: Getting the 'French touch' from the early 90's without the heavy pumping.
Some early stages of this chain can still be found on an old website www.soundprocessing.nl. Please note that the chain found on the website is not the one you are listening to in the soundfiles.

Now that the station stopped broadcasting my processingchain also has been 'put to sleep'. as I don't want it to die I would love to share it with those who like the sound and want to use it for their station.
The only thing I would like to get in return is to keep me up to date as I would love to listen to your stations!

I've been a processing fan since the age of ten and it will probably be that way the rest of my life. ;-)

p.s. The files can be downloaded by pressing the arrow pointing down (next to the heart). Listening online will give a lower sound quality.

I posted up 2 clips from wvbg fm in Vicksburg, MS. Classic Hits, DSPXTRA, modified AC-ST preset. AES out to comrex bric-link, 32khz FLAC, AES into DSPMPX, CCA transmitter with Energy-Onix exciter.
