Hello Carl,
Today I was thinking about the SSTRAN. Have you considered marketing just the audio compressor/limiter part of it so that it could be used with any existing Part 15 AM transmitter to improve its audio quality and modulation?
I have a Behringer audio compressor/limiter which I like, but its optimum settings for processing AM audio aren't intuitive (you have to do a lot of fiddling to find them), it's fairly complex, and it takes up a lot of desk space. The compressor/limiter section of the SSTRAN would be much smaller and easier to use. Also, SSTRAN users might be able to use it with the SSTRAN as a "pre-emphasis" unit to give their audio even more "punch!"
