PRODUCTION HELP NEEDED

i know this is radio..but i have a production question that someone may can answer. I have a dvd of my old band from our 20th class reunion back in 89. it was dubbed from a vhs..which in turn was dubbed from a 3/4 beta . the quality is fine, but due to the camera angle being off to the side..the sound is somewhat muddy. the actual music mix is fine,...what i need to do is re eq the audio ..add some highs, and presence to the sound. i have the dvd on my hard drive..is there some software that will allow me to adjust the audio and then save the new mix ? i also have the vhs tape if needed.i'd like to make copies for all my classmates for our 40th reunion in june..i have a new 22x dvd burner and a seperate pc set up to burn..i just need to get the sound re mixed...thanks..pj

Pat...ask Buddy to borrow his copy of Cool Edit (pre Adobe)...
it has full eq and compression/limiting

i have cool edit on my pc..didn't realize i could do it with that..i think i have the pre adobe version..i got it from one of the band members just last month..but haven't played with it much..all the audio prod i do is with roxoio 7 or audacity..pretty basic i know..but all i need to do what i do..thanks..i'll try that tomorrow..
