Production Order Software

This may be more than you're looking for but check it out:

http://www.vcreativeinc.com/ppo

BTW, I am not shilling for these people (nice as they are) but it's a fairly innovative product that solves a lot of problems. Actually, I would be very interested in hearing from any production peeps that are currently using this system. Is it better than, more efficient than your previous paper trail system?

Otherwise I would invite you to check out Word by a little startup called Micro-something...
;D

Several years ago, I created a PO in Word and sent it to all of our AE's. They are very comfortable with filling it out and sending it to me via email along with the script. The send the email to our traffic and production departments. No paper printed!! It is very efficient, and filing is so much easier when it's all electronic.

I'm amazed to see how many radio stations are still doing everything with printed or hand-written production orders in 2012. The waste of paper and the burden of filing all of that paper is ridiculous in today's technology-filled world.

My next step is to create a form on our intranet that the AE's will fill out. Once filled out, the form will automatically email a copy to production, traffic, and the AE. Creative PPO looks interesting. I'm gonna check it out.

You could create your form with "emailmeform.com" ... Works for me and nothing ever gets lost. It has a data backup. sweet stuff
