Dan O Day does one on commercial production...but, hey, give him a little time and he'll probably pimp on this idea too

ya ive seen that one... but its usually in la and way too expensive for me!

Digidesign (pro tools) gives seminars / tutorials all over the country. You can sign up on their website, and it's free to attend. It's generally more of a sales demo for some of their new product lines but full of tips, tricks, and ideas if you're a pro tools user. Even if you're not, it's at least worth the price of admission! Many of the tools and techniques are not necessarily unique to pro tools or just music production.

I had a chance to go to Dan O'Day's production summit this year and highly recomend it if you can convince your bosses to send you. A lot of new ideas put out there and the connections that you make with other production people is priceless.

I agree with Qwirky. I was at the first Production/VoiceOver Summit he did with Dick Orkin (alone worth the price of admission). 3 days. Gary Owens, Tom Bodett, June Foray, Avery Schreiber, Tom Sharp, and many others whose names I cannot recall, but whose voices I hear everyday. I think Chuck Blore was there too...an amazing thinker.

Bottom line...go. Even if you can't afford it. The practical information is amazing...and it's all tax deductible!
