PRODUCTION SOUND EFFECTS

It seems like a ton of them are being posted to the alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.sound-effects newsgroup on a daily basis.

Only a few problems with that:

1. Most people encode mp3's at terrible bitrates - I'd rather own a master and rip it the way I want.

2. Working in legit radio, I'd prefer to have elements that are LICENSED properly to the station/facility.

That's true. But sometimes you can't find the cut you need, even when you have purchased five or more libraries. It's an option when all else fails.
 
Be sure to check out audiosparx.com You can download individual sfx, music cuts, etc., once you set up an account. They've come in very handy when I've needed sfx on short notice.
