Program Directors Conferences or PD Conferences

I have been told by a recent new hire that has worked in corporate radio for R-1 and CC that these companies normally have PD Conferences for OM's PD's APD's and MD's? I am interested to know the mechanics of such a conference. I work in a cluster of several stations and this seem beneficial. Can someone direct me to how this can be started, content etc........

It can be as simple or as over-the-top as you'd like it to be. You just need to determine what you want to teach your programmers, and how to do it in a way that doesn't lose their interest. Entertainment, speakers, etc, all help mix it up.

The best events fire the attendees up and make them not be able to wait to get back to their stations to try things.

You can also use it as an opportunity to answer questions about the state of the company, it's executive leadership, etc. And, it's a good networking opportunity for many. The friends you make at many of these things can be worthy allies when you have questions about your station, or the things in it.

Hope that helps.
