Program to auto shut down your PC/Windows

Hi all

Not sure if this will be useful to some, but here's a freeware program that can shutdown your PC at a set time. I've used it & its great for turning my PC off at a remote site after my station closes down for the night. The PC plays all the music & station IDs.

I use it on Win XP pro.

Unlike windows Scheduler which just sat there & did well....NOTHING...... Wouldn't even run a batch file......

Shutdown.exe

Windows XP Pro has a "shutdown.exe" command in the system32 directory. There are several switches available (go to a command prompt and type in "shutdown /?") that allow you to control the shutdown procedure, restart the system, etc.

I've used it from the "Scheduled Tasks" program successfully on several machines. You do have to be a local administrator on that system.
